Art(We Are All Artists)

Art What if art isn't just what we do, but who we are? Here's a piece I wrote in a moment of deep reflection on creativity, faith, and identity. It reminds you that your life is a masterpiece in progress.

We Are All Artists I was thinking today…
What do I want to do with my life?
What are my hobbies?
What is my passion?
And the first thing that pops into my mind
Is art.
But then I pause…
and ask:
What is art?
Crazy, right?
Why art?

Is it something that’s been embedded in my mind?
Or just another idea society has planted,
Telling me what to love,
Telling me who to be?
So I asked again
What is art? I checked Google,
It said: “Art is the expression of human creativity and imagination.”
So does that mean…
We are all artists?
Or is that just what society wants me to believe?
Am I passionate about art?
Or just imagining that I am?
But wait
Isn’t imagination art?
That means I’m an artist.
You’re an artist.
We are all artists.
Even in the silence of a thought,
Even in the stillness of the soul
Art lives there. Crazy, right?
People say:
“I’m not an artist, I can’t draw.”
“I’m not an artist, I can’t sing.”
“I’m not an artist, I can’t dance or paint.”
But maybe…
Art isn’t in the doing.
Maybe art is in the being. Everywhere we go,
Everywhere we look
We see art.
The colors in the sky,
The rhythm of the rain,
The way our heart beats when we feel something real. Art is in life.
Art is in us.
And then I remember
Our Father created us.
We are made in His likeness.
He is the ultimate Creator.
The original Artist.
So if we come from Him,
Then surely,
Creativity runs in our veins.
Art lives in our DNA.
We inherit that spark.

The divine gift of imagination,
The sacred stamp of uniqueness. Our fingerprint…
It is our personal art piece.
No two are the same.
Not even twins share that mark.
A silent signature of God’s craftsmanship.
So who says you’re not an artist?
If you’ve ever loved,
If you’ve ever dreamed,
If you’ve ever hoped
You’ve created something. You are art.
You are the artist.
And your life…
Is the canvas. Written by me Call me Toyo. Or Oluwatee. Or whatever love sounds like to you. Thank you for reading.
